For those of you who don't know yet and as an official note to everyone, Proboards is going to switch to Version 5 in January.
At the moment we admins are recreating our forums in a copy of the existing forum, but running on Version 5. This is necessary since the admin panel, mainly, has changed completely.
Now when I've got the copy of this forum up to scratch in V5 I'm going to ask you all to join it and test it to make sure there are no bugs, glitches etc. Here it is important to know though that no posts made or messages sent on the copy will be saved permanently. The copies will all be deleted after the official switch.
I'd recommend that when we're ready you do give the new version a test run, because it is different, for members as well as admins. One of the most noticable changes in posting will for instance be that font is no longer refulated by just [font , but by [font face which means all previously used font changes will default in some form. However, there will be the option to work in a visual editor for posting (looks a bit like a word processing thing) or with BB codes.
However, version 5 also comes with one of the most widely requested Proboards features, an inbuilt chat box.
For now, though, everything here's staying as it is though and I'll keep you updated.
