personality:
Aiji, isn't the type to say what's on his mind. In fact he makes it a point to do just the opposite. He's more then a fair liar and he's rather adept at making up wild stories. He's also pretty good at dancing around subjects and not giving straight answers. Whenever something threatens to hit too close to home he's not afraid of steering the conversation away from the topic at hand or dropping the matter all together. He's a very personal guy and doesn't like it when people pry into his private affairs. That being said he tends to mask his thoughts and feelings with what he believes others want to hear. He doesn't do it to be malicious, it's just another of his quirks and bad habits.
In his minds eye, most things just aren't worth the effort. Ultimately things are either bothersome or pointless, possibly the reason he tends to go about life in such an unenthusiastic manner. He assumes most people are motivated by personal gain, but the idea doesn't really bug him, just makes him a little more cynical then some. He isn't pessimistic just a tad jaded. You'd think that being a wizard would be a cure-all for boredom, but Aiji has never been the enthusiastic type. Even his preferred brand of humor is deliberately expressionless and passive. This has a way of carrying over to his mannerisms and actions as well. From the way he walks to the way he speaks, everything about him hints at being too tired to really care. Like an over-indulged house cat. He's also smarter then he let's on, but he doesn't make a point of showing it.
Despite his typical disinterest in things, he does have a rather active imagination and likes to make frequent use of it. Even still, he's quick to dismiss things like religion and Santa Clause and refuses to believe for the sake of believing. In a way he's become disenchanted with the world as it is and yet he refuses to do anything about it. Choosing instead to take to flights of fancy and his world of make-believe. On the plus side, he's a very mellow and laid-back person. He rarely loses his cool and can keep a cool on his temper. This makes it pretty easy for him to keep a detached and unbiased perspective on things. Just don't expect him to take sides or make important decisions. He hates getting involved in altercations and likes to take things at a slow and steady pace.

family:
Mother: Nana Shinomiya, thirty-nine.
(Step)Father: David Love, forty-three.
Sister: Zoe Love, fourteen.
Sister: Megan Love, nine.
background:
Love can be a tricky thing. For Nana Shinomiya, that was a lesson hard learned. Going against her families wishes she ran off with a muggle man. To add insult to injury she ended getting pregnant before he even bothered putting a ring on her finger. By the time he had proposed she was already expecting and on bad terms with the family. His cheating ways made things difficult and for a while she was afraid she miscarry. Several months later and she had a baby boy. The man she professed to love was long gone by now and what should have been a happy time in her life was marred by anxiety and worry. She was a jobless, single mother and at the end of her rope. Setting her pride aside she returned home.
A year or so later and she met, David Love. He was a wizard vacationing in Japan for the holidays and the two hit it off well. Soon enough they were engaged and setting a wedding date. He was everything her previous fiance wasn't; loyal, patient, and a wonderful father figure. He took to Aiji as if the boy were his own flesh and blood. After marriage they moved to England. Life outside of Japan was strange for the still young Aiji, but he adapted. His biggest difficulty proved to be his limited understanding of the English language. Lot's of lessons later and the boy found himself improving and his happy little family expanding. Magic aside, they were the picture of normalcy. Since both of his parents happened to be from the wizarding community none of their children were unfamiliar with magic. So when he received his letter from Hogwarts, it wasn't much of a surprise.

name: Anne.
rp example:
It was that time again; time for him to escape the everyday tedium of life via his imagination. Laying sprawled out across the cobblestone he looked up at the pear tree through half-lidded eyes. From gaps in the branches he could see bits and pieces of the sky overhead. Yawning freely he draped a hand over his eyes, successfully blocking the light from his sleepy orbs. He could feel the chill of the ground as it seeped through his robes, but he found it neither uncomfortable or bothersome. Letting the rustle of leaves lull him further into his sleep like trance he only half listened to the hushed whispers of his fellow co-eds. Now wasn't the time for gossip, it was his time for rest and relaxation. A break from the idle chitter chatter of his peers and the repetitive drone of his professors.
Lids closed he envisioned a world all his own, unbound by logic and reason. Here there was no social class, no expectations, and no need to worry about the future. The barrier separating his mind from the muggle world and wizarding world was diminishing with every passing second, until the fair haired boy could no longer distinguish one from the other. Up became down and left became right. What was once wrong was wrong no more. All that remained was his preferred brand of chaos and a much needed moment of repose. It was almost therapeutic in it's nature and lately he found himself more and more eager to return. However life had a nasty way of keeping him grounded, and once again he could hear reality as it knocked loudly at his door. Lips parting he groaned softly, his slender hand going to massage the ache in his lower back.
Shifting, he forced open his closed eyes. Blinking, he stared blankly up at his surroundings before trailing hi eyes languidly in the direction of the fountain. Brows pinched in a soft scowl he watched the steady flow of water, it's quiet bubbling like a sweet, melodious song. Books discarded haphazardly to his side he made it a point to ignore all bodies of work. He didn't have the energy or the focus required of studying at the moment anyway. Instead he would lay as he was for as long as possible, enjoying his time away from the chaos within Hogwarts massive halls. At the sound of a croak, Aiji, turned his head to the side and was greeted by the familiar sight of his rather large toad. Lips quirking up as the corners he shot the creature a bemused, if halfhearted, grin. "You're highness." He greeted in a low drawl, his words accompanied by a slight bow of the head.
His answer came in the form of another loud croak followed by a pronounced weight on his chest. Quirking a brow he clicked his tongue disapprovingly. "Must you always do that? You do realize that I'm not a piece of furniture to be made use of likely." Resisting the urge to roll his eyes he opted instead to gently pat the top of his companions head. "Nonsense, of course I'm not upset with you." Chuckling quietly he continued, completely unbothered by the fact that the entire conversation was a bit one sided. "You know that I could never be upset with you." As if satisfied by the answer the toad gave another croak before slipping away. Exhaling, Aiji, pillowed his head with his arms. He'd leave The Duke to his own devices, for now all he wanted to do was a great deal of nothing.
